update
Build 1.0.1
Build 1.0.1 is out - a lot of fixes and additional polish after the first weekend.
All 1.0.0 saves, designs and share codes load in 1.0.1, so nothing is lost. Saves should migrate over fine, but you will need to start a new game to use the Historical Infrastructure Limits mode.
Additions
- Save / Designs / Share / Clear header actions on all three designers, and each designer now holds its work across a tab change
- Historical Infrastructure Limits: an optional campaign rule holding designs to real slips, docks, gun pits and plate mills
- Random ship names improved
- Armour Suggest button sets the belt anchor and scheme shape from class, date and main battery - and can be undone if you don’t like the result
- Raised belt toggle lifts the main belt and armoured deck 1.5 m
- Placement undo/redo (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z) for 2D-view move gestures, for everything but superstructure
- Hull / Superstructure tabs in the ship designer’s left panel; the superstructure list should no longer be cut off so easily
- Superstructure points edit on either side of the centreline, crossing the centreline reflects instead of collapsing, and ‘c’ centres the selected point on the centreline
- Powerplant room Width control, with mousewheel editing and ceilings that report what each placement can actually be built to
- Steering-gear rooms are drawn and reserved as real spaces when steering armour is fitted
- Summary card rework: live cost, complement, weight shares, per-deck freeboard, and optional labelled firing arcs
- Show Livery tick paints the summary card in your Customize colours, decks planked and funnel caps soot-dark
- 3D viewer Save Image export, with optional armour legend and details caption
- Equipment weight group activated (anchors and cables, boats and davits, miscellaneous gear), plus Equipment and Crew and Effects breakdown tooltips
- Saves and share codes carry the build version that wrote them and migrate forward; bad, retired or newer-build codes are refused with a named reason instead of “not valid”
- Imported designs with disallowed technology step down to what the importing nation can build, with the changes listed before Apply
- Migrations that must drop a setting now say which ones, on the affected design
- Saving a gun or mount under a name already in use is not allowed
- New placement validation: pedestal mounts must stand on something, machinery cannot pierce the armour deck (yet), chambered base rings seat on the deck - and Generate Battery seats every mount on Auto base
- New era warnings, never save-blocking: cruising range and cruise speed against period practice, and a wet quarterdeck
Fixes
- Setting displacement to zero crashed the entire app
- The chamber slider ran backwards on peak pressure, muzzle velocity and barrel life on certain designs
- Port-side aft-facing mounts drew bow-ward in the profile view
- Magazine rooms could intersect each other
- Battery hoist heads and trunks now collide with mounts, funnels, machinery and each other instead of overlapping them
- Saved designs load deck slope, gunhouse and gun-shield outlines, working-chamber ready racks and barbette armour settings properly
- Casemate armour was not rendered on a battery inside a raised forecastle
- 2D profile ordering improved
- Design lists sorting improved; sorting now remembers the previous column as a tie-breaker
- Echelon machinery layouts came out lopsided because a width edit never reached the far-side room
- Full-load weight was missing the crew group, and LCG balance was missing stores, crew and other
- Placing a superstructure on a stacked or raised one landed it level with the roof it stood on
- Mousewheel over the Width cell scrolled the panel out from under the cursor instead of editing the value
Balance
- Hull weight increased on capital ships
- Armour charges its mounting overhead: bolts, shelf and teak backing
- TDS bulkheads now weigh their structural steel
- Auto armour scaling is era-aware in both designers
- Growing a magazine past its base reservation costs more
- A new mount opens fully stocked within its reservation, and ‘swap’ on mounts is handled better
- A gun carrying under half or over twice its calibre’s typical ammunition load raises a warning
Other
- Numbers display consistently everywhere: thousands separators on gun and turret cost, barrel life, research totals and magazine round counts
- Text sweep for spelling and consistency across all three designers
Keep the reports coming on the Discord - that is where the next round of this list comes from.
