It’s out. The first free public build of Naval Estimates is live on itch.io - free, playable in your browser, nothing to install. Go and play it.

What’s in your hands is the design suite: the three core designers - guns, turrets, and ships - and the pipeline that runs between them. It’s set in 1905, and the job is the Royal Navy’s first dreadnought.

One thing didn’t make the cut: the guided tutorial. It’s coming in an update soon. For now the designers are open from the start.

Save your designs and share them on the Discord - the best place to report what breaks, ask what’s confusing, and tell me what you think. I’ll be there all day. The first weekly design competition will be announced there on Sunday, and the theme is the obvious one - a historically grounded dreadnought design. Until then, explore.

This build is the foundation, not the whole game: the design tools everything else will stand on. The strategic layer and tactical combat come later, and what you build and argue over now will shape them.

Seventeen years in the making, more or less. Go build something.
