update

Build 1.2.3

More of a proper patch than a hotfix: continued work on the imperial and metric choices, plus a number of identified bugs.

Existing saves should work fine. Some funnels may draw larger, and large-calibre magazines smaller.

Additions

  • Funnels can have a manual uptake feed set
  • Funnels can be paired side by side - Ctrl-click with one funnel selected draws the slot as two abreast

Fixes

  • A deck gun above a hull casemate, or two casemates a deck apart, no longer report a false collision if the upper one has no hoist
  • The 3D viewer’s Transparent mode fills correctly when switched to from Normal or Wireframe
  • Barbette armour no longer draws oversized in the profile view, or covers superstructure walls standing behind it
  • A full-coverage belt now draws all the way to bow and stern
  • An armour value on a zone the ship does not actually have - a casemate auto-filled on a ship with no casemates, say - no longer shows in the summary
  • A face-hardened lower belt can no longer be chosen where its taper thins the plate below what that material supports
  • Armour and decks could stretch unrealistically past the hull on certain raised-belt, low-stern shapes
  • Tooltips, validation messages and limits now read in imperial when that mode is on
  • The armament listbox’s armour values follow the unit toggle, as do the penetration panel’s entries and its results table
  • Battery hoist room floor, magazine lift and battery-head carry distance show in feet under imperial
  • Gun-pit length errors respect the nation’s own notation

Balance

  • Magazines re-anchored and recalibrated for stowage: bulk density was being double counted, and the penalties were too aggressive
  • Split magazines fit each deck independently, against that deck’s own obstacles
  • Funnel sizing recalibrated against real ship data
  • Superfiring placement rebalanced - a gun above and behind another can sit closer before the position is rejected
  • The penetration probe’s post-impact behaviour is more accurate: shells glancing off thick angled armour and armoured decks ricochet away instead of stopping mid-plate, and thin plating can strip an armour-piercing cap
  • Battleship and battlecruiser minimum size lowered to 7,500 t

Other

  • The turret and gun-shield shape controls are dropdowns instead of buttons

Units, funnels and magazines all moved in this one - if something reads wrong in imperial, say so on the Discord.
